Job Description

  • Prepare food for Clients in an efficient and effective manner. Assist in the in-take of food on Mondays and Wednesdays for distribution on Mondays and Thursdays.
  • Use desk-top computer or tablet to record visits of Clients when in attendance in link to feed database.
  • Perform administrative tasks on same system to record and order weekly food requirements.
  • Support all aspect of Food Bank under the direction and guidance of the Food Bank Director, such as packing, sorting, and re-stocking shelves to make distribution of food to our Clients more efficient.
  • Perform maintenance of the floors, desks and all areas of Food Bank to ensure, proper hygiene, sanitization and compliances.

  • The successful candidate(s) must be willing to lift food boxes/bags weighing up to 20 kilograms.

Outline Of Activities, Tasks And Responsibilities

  • Arrive for work at the schedule time and sign-in. If you are unable to come in for a scheduled shift, please notify the Food Bank Administrator at least 24 hours before shift begins.
  • Monday morning/afternoon/evening between 4:00 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. and on Thursdays between 9:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. you will serve about 100 – 125 families.
  • Inform Food Bank Coordinator if food supplies are running low.
  • On Wednesdays between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m.
    • Assist in the receipt of Food from our Donors via our loading dock.
    • Move food inside Food Bank.
    • Unpack boxes or bags to storage shelfs, Fridges and Cooler.
    • Prepare from shelves boxes of required food for distribution.

How Do I Qualify:
  • Must be between the ages of 15-30 years at the start of the employment. Maybe more than 30 years at the end of the employment period.
