The Holy Ghost (Spirit) in Action - Scene 28: Acts 12: 12 - 25 - Peter at the Prayer Meeting

In writing last week, we saw the imprisonment of Apostle Peter as a result of Herod's vindictive wrath upon the church and because Herod saw it pleased the religious Jewish leaders to do so. However, we also saw Apostle Peter’s great deliverance from prison.

Peter having come to the realization that he was miraculously delivered by the Spirit of God in action, realized where he was, and decided to go to the house of Mary the mother of John, where they usually gathered for prayer meetings. The scripture says that when Peter got there, he knocked at the gate of the house and a young lady by the name of Rhoda came to open the gate when she heard the knocking. Rhoda heard the voice of Peter but opened not the gate because of her excitement, and her unbelief that that Peter could be standing there, and not in prison.

This young damsel ran and told those gathered in the house that Apostle Peter was outside the gate, but they also did not believe and suggested that she was mad. But having recognized Peter's voice, she insisted that he was indeed outside the gate. Peter continued knocking, and the group of prayer warriors opened the gate, and when they saw Peter they were extremely astonished.

Dr. Luke recorded that Apostle Peter told this astonished group to hold their peace and proceeded to explain to them, the mighty and miraculous deliverance that the Spirit of God in action did in getting him out of prison. Additionally, Peter implored the prayer group to testify and inform Apostle James and the other brethren of these things that the Lord had done in delivering him from King Herod and the expectations of the legalists who opposed the gospel of Jesus Christ.

The same Spirit of God in action that delivered Peter out of the hand of the enemy is still at work in our world today. Many of us have had similar experiences of deliverance from the hand of the enemy, and today we are rejoicing of how God has set us free from the "prison" of drugs, prostitution, alcohol and many other vices.

If you would like to know more about the power of God and hear great testimonies of deliverance from the plan of Satan, for many of us, please contact us and we will be happy to share them with you.
